EAVI provides regularly research publication that address our key themes, particularly media literacy. Our publications are dedicated to helping you to understand the latest developments of media literacy in Europe in the context of rapidly evolving communication technology and a constantly shifting media environment. By endorsing media literacy we aim to promote the broader objectives of active citizenship, participation and democracy in Europe.

The main goal of the study is to analyse and test out the criteria detected in the previous study and to get in-depth and concrete results on the media literacy levels of European citizens.

EAVI coordinated the Study on the Assessment Criteria of Media Literacy Levels in Europe for the European Commission, DG Information Society.

It offers a comprehensive view of the concept of media literacy and an understanding of how media literacy levels in Europe should be assessed.

The European Commission commissioned the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona to conduct an investigation of the current trends of media literacy in Europe.

EAVI has contributed drafting the pan-European Chapter and reporting case studies on the subject.

EAVI carried out a research in the 27 EU countries as well as in Switzerland and Norway, with the aim of identifying what instruments European citizens have at their disposal to safeguard their rights and interests as TV viewers. A separate chapter in the research analyses the instruments and procedures that are available within the European institutions.
